Overview

Come join us for our first-ever LGBTQ Wet & Wild Adventure Week in Puerto Viejo! Spend eight amazing nights in one of Costa Rica's most pristine lush rain forests, and soak up the sun on some of the most stunning and remote beaches anywhere! The week will be full of daily tours and in-house experiences which you can pick and choose from, you can be as active and adventurous as you like or just relax and enjoy the tranquility of Costa Rica's amazing Southern Caribbean Coast!

 Lodging  and event fee packages from $510 +tax per person for 9days/8nights  based on Double Occupancy

Depending on hotel and tour options chosen and package dates. Additional nights on the Caribbean Coast can be added as well as additional nights in San Jose at Hotel Colours in other regions of the country.

FAQ Why do I have to pay an event fee? Events like this have huge costs and huge risks.  Funds will cover items like Marketing, Security, Access to Medical Assistance, event logistics, staff and set up, scheduled event shuttle transportation, concierge services, official event photographer, entertainment, etc)


 What to Bring:

Swimsuit, hiking shoes, sandals that can get wet for a rafting trip, sunscreen, pants, insect repellent, Light raincoat for nights in the rainforest, clothes for opening and closing themed parties

On Oct 15th Colours Hotel in San Jose will host our Wet & Wild KICK-OFF PARTY! Event admission is included in the event price. Lodging at Colours Hotel can be arranged exclusively through Gaycations.


Event Itinerary

Day 1 Oct 16

Puerto Viejo

Official Wet & Wild Fun Bus, curated with “Cruise Director” leaves Colours Hotel at 10:30 am,  to Puerto Viejo. Includes, onboard entertainment, fun drinks, and much more!

After your first fun-filled day of Adventure Travel, you will have time to relax and explore the lush surroundings of your hotel, and later in the evening head on to our official “Meat & Greet” social mixer at  Hotel Banana Azul

 Day 2 Oct 17

Puerto Viejo

Colin’s annual Beach BBQ Party! (Entrance included in event  fee)

On your second day, you can choose from a variety of events in the area at one of our partnered hotels, or you can just relax on the beach and soak up the Caribbean sun!

Starting at 1:00 pm is Colin’s Annual Beach BBQ Party with Live and DJ entertainment. Entrance included (BBQ and Drinks Extra)

Day 3 Oct 18

Siquirres

Pacuare White water rafting trip (Not included in Event Fee $99+tax p/p)

On day 3 you will embark early for an amazing White water rafting trip on the Pacuare River! The Pacuare River is one of the best choices for your adventure treks in Costa Rica. No other trip in the country exists that offers you a perfect blend of wilderness exposure and excitement, all in one day. Pacuare is world-famous for its sheer beauty. A true river gorge, it is flanked by steep, green walls. Here you enjoy the feeling of total isolation from urban life and the realness of being connected with nature. You see waterfalls cascade into the river from both sides as colorful, tropical birds fly right over your head. Amazing views of this virgin tropical rainforest area, appear before your eyes as you descend this true exploratory land. Wildlife is abundant, with sloths, toucans, parrots, coatis, morpho butterflies, and colorful frogs being common sights.

Day 4 Oct 19th

Puerto Viejo

Multiple Beach Tour (by E-bike or event shuttle Not included in event fee $49+tax p/p)

On your fourth day, you will set out on our Multiple beach Tour either on our very popular E-Bikes or in the wet & Wild Fun Shuttle! You will depart Banana Azul around 9:00 am and will head to the furthest beach which is Manzanillo, tour the scenic vista point then head on to Punta Uva, Playa Chiquita, Cocles, Puerto Viejo, ending in Playa Negra at Banana Azul where lunch will be served on the outside Terraza. Please note (E-bikes are limited, so first come first served)

Day 5 Oct 20th

Puerto Viejo

Caribbean Canopy Tour! (Not included in event fee $59+tax p/p)

If you’ve had that one wish in life to be able to fly this is as close as you can get! With over 2,500 meters of zipline cable, you will soar through the Caribbean jungle and see the world from above.

 Your zip lining tour begins 30 minutes outside of Puerto Viejo. Transportation is provided from your hotel and we drive you to the first canopy platform. We’re excited to boast one of the most spectacular lengths of cable at 285 meters long, 80 meters high. This is the cable that will carry you directly to the heart of the jungle where you will take a short hike with your nature guide.

 Day 6 - Oct 21st

Puerto Viejo

Gaycations Jaguar Rescue Center and Punta Uva Hike! (Not included in event fee $49+tax p/p)

 On your sixth day, you can choose to go on one of our most popular local tours of the Jaguar Rescue Center. This trip combines two activities: a visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center and a visit to Punta Uva’s sightseeing point.

The Jaguar Rescue Center rehabilitates mistreated, injured, and/or confiscated animals, which are then reintroduced to their natural habitat in protected areas. Visitors have direct contact with monkeys, wild cats, sloths, raccoons, anteaters, marsupials, reptiles, amphibians, etc.

After the visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center, you will head over to the very popular Punta Uva Beach where you will take a short hike out to the vista point where you have the opportunity to get some great photos and maybe even see some wildlife that you previously might have seen in the rescue center.

Day 7 - Oct 22nd

Puerto Viejo

Gaycations Cahuita Hike and Waterfall: (Not included in event fee $49+tax p/p)

Cahuita National Park is considered one of the most beautiful protected areas in Costa Rica. It is also one of the oldest national parks of Costa Rica as it was founded in 1970 to protect the coral reef. Because of its white-sand beaches, groves of coconut palms, turquoise sea, and coral reefs this is a spot you do not want to miss. We will pick you up at your hotel and drive to Cahuita National Park; it is located about 20 minutes from Puerto Viejo. The tour will start at the Kelly Creek ranger station, which is the entrance closest to Cahuita town. From here our professional naturalist tour guide will use his sharp senses to spot animals. After the Hiking in Cahuita, you will go to an amazing waterfall where you will be able to swim and take a light snack.

Later in the evening head on to our official Weekend Kick-Off Themed Party at Koki Beach!

Day 8 - Oct 23rd

Final full day in Paradise

Happy Endings Pool Party! (Entrance included in event  fee)

 On your eighth day, you can choose from a variety of events in the area at one of our partnered hotels, or you can join us at our soon to be historic Happy Endings Pool Party at Puerto Viejo Club MORE DETAILS TO COME!

In the late evening head over to our Official Wet & Wild Closing party at Le Cameleon!

Day 9 - Oct 24th

Travel Back to San Jose

Pick up from Puerto Viejo after breakfast around 2:00 PM  and transfer almost the entire stretch of the Caribbean lowlands, about halfway through the trip you will stop for a few minutes to grab a bite to eat and relax a bit before continuing north into the Caribbean highlands where you will have many photos opts of the amazing Turrialba Volcano landscape before ascending into the San Jose Central Valley and onward to the SJO INT Airport

Villas Pina;

Each villa has air conditioning, hot water, kitchenette w/refrigerator, 2 queen beds accommodating up to 4 people, a room safe to secure your belongings, a large veranda with a garden view, & WiFi. Our Rancho (common area) is where we serve breakfast each morning. Breakfast items include fresh fruits, eggs, juice, Gallo Pinto, and more. The Rancho also has a swimming pool, book exchange, and a large rooftop sun/moon deck for sunning and stargazing.

Casa Vikingo

Based in the lush tropical rainforest along the beach, inspired by seafaring Vikings and the colors of the Caribbean, Guesthouse Casa Vikingo is a brand new option for visitors to Puerto Viejo. A delightful retreat in lovely jungle surroundings, with easy access to restaurants, adventurous excursions, and that unpolished pearl, Puerto Viejo. The rooms include 2 flats with full kitchen facilities, 2 single rooms and 2 double, all with separate bathroom, showers and hot water, writing desk, cable television and outside private space with dining table. Guests in the rooms have free use of a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, and a washing machine is available for all guests against a small fee. There are free parking and wifi access on the premises. Bikes are available for rent.

 

Additional add-ons / Bocas Island Hop

Travel to Bocas del Toro Day 10-11(Inquire for pricing)

After picking you up at your hotel, we will travel by shared shuttle to the border with Panama, you will cross the Rio Sixaola, pass through immigration and then take another shuttle to Almirante where a small passenger boat will take us to Bocas town on Isla Colon. You will have the rest of the day to explore the town on your own.

Day 10–  Full day tour  (only on a 2-night stay)

You will go on a tour to Cayo Zapatillo, where you can try out deep boarding, the new way to snorkel. The tour includes lunch and snorkeling equipment.

Day 11– Return to Puerto Viejo or San Jose

Morning breakfast, then return to Puerto Viejo at 8 am or 12 pm, or San Jose at 6 am.
